Support tutor Sarah’s beading marathon

We’ve all heard of people running or cycling to raise money for good causes, but London Jewellery School tutor Sarah Burnett-Moore has set herself a beading challenge that also requires a lot of effort as she explains here:

“I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time last year (after nearly ten years), and have been making long magatama bracelets to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

“I’ve set myself a new challenge of doing a Beadathon – making a 26.2inch long magatama piece that can be worn as a long necklace, or a shorter necklace with a matching bracelet.  The project will use nearly 1000 long magatama Japanese beads and nearly 20 metres of thread.  I aim to have this done before the 2016 London Marathon.

“For every £1 you sponsor me, I will give you an entry into a prize draw to win the necklace, i.e. £1 = 1 entry, £5 = 5 entries etc.”
