Share your handmade jewellery with The Guardian

Here is an interesting way to show off your jewellery creations.

The Guardian website’s Witness section often asks readers to share pictures or stories about a particular topics – anything from witnessing protests on your travels to the best tomato soup recipe. The idea is to gather real people’s experiences and share them with others.

And right now one of its subjects is handmade jewellery. The “assignment” asks you to share a picture of a piece you made and the story behind it. They want to see and hear about successes and failures, why you made the piece or the thinking behind it. So it could be your first silver ring or a great beaded necklace you made on commission, the first piece you sold or a new idea you are experimenting with.

We’ve already spotted a few London Jewellery School students posting pictures of metal clay and resin pieces and we’d love to see more up there. This is a great way for you to share what you do and boost interest in handmade jewellery and jewellery making.

Plus a few images will be chosen to feature in the October edition of the newspaper’s Do Something supplement – what better to aim for, your jewellery in a national newspaper.

To share your image go to the Guardian Witness jewellery page by clicking here and following the instructions. Comment here to tell us what you’ve shared.
